Shock Rock! A walking, talking power supply.

– Shock Rock before powering a Xingo game.[1]

Shock Rock is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Fulmini from the destroyed planet Fulmas.

Appearance[]

Shock Rock has a humanoid body mainly comprised of blue energy. There are four retractable[merch 1] spikes protruding from both of his shoulders. His arms are rather large, stretching down nearly to his feet in resting position. His head, arms, chest, shoulders, and legs are rock-like. His eyes are green and a moss-like substance can be seen around his neck and shoulders.

Shock Rock wears the Omnitrix symbol on his chest.

In Innervasion Part 4: Mind Over Alien Matter, the Omnitrix symbol was absent from Shock Rock due to being used inside the Omnitrix.

In Innervasion, while under the influence of the High Override, Shock Rock's energy turned purple and he gained a cape. His spikes were sharper and he grew four horns.

In Welcome to Zombozo-Zone!, Shock Rock wore armored shin guards, shoulder pads, and wrist guards alongside a helmet with a green feather.

In Tales from the Omnitrix, Shock Rock appeared to be a bit muscular along with a four pack. His face also appeared to be somewhat long and slim.

In Xingo's Back, Shock Rock was pixelated with no moss on his shoulders and chest whatsoever.

Powers and Abilities[]

Shock Rock has the ability to release strong, blue electrical charges from any part of his body, which he can use to construct various weapons and tools through imagination,[merch 2] such as a boomerang (dubbed a "bluemerang")[2] and a shield.[3]

Shock Rock is able to absorb external sources of energy, such as a Chimera Sui Generis' optical lasers.[4]

Shock Rock is invulnerable to external electricity. Moreover, if he is exposed to external electricity, his electrokinetic powers will be amplified, as seen when the size of his electric ball got increased and became big enough to blast both Weatherheads and Vilgax back.[4]

Shock Rock can stretch his arms at a certain extent.[5]

Shock Rock can power up and enhance machines with the use of his electricity.[1]

Shock Rock has indestructible stone armor and possesses enhanced strength, being able to drill through solid stone.[merch 2]

Shock Rock can use his electrokinesis to telekinetically move objects.[6]

Shock Rock can create force fields.[7][8][9]

Shock Rock can create energy boxes that remain even if he times out.[10]

Shock Rock can generate wormholes, as demonstrated by other Fulmini.[11] He can also increase the size of a wormhole, by using his energy to expand the particles.[12]

Shock Rock's DNA pod can absorb the excess charge from the Omnitrix and enhance the other aliens.[13][11]

While under the control of the High Override, Shock Rock's power would be boosted to the point where he could destroy Earth.[DR 1]

Weaknesses[]

Shock Rock can inadvertently give his enemies an energy boost if the machine he is charging up is a trap for his power to siphon through.[1]

Shock Rock is vulnerable to being controlled by a superior member of his species, such as the High Override.[11]

Due to being made of energy, Shock Rock can unintentionally activate any machine via physical contact, as he accidentally gave away his position to the Fogg when he leaned to an inactive neon sign.[14]

Shock Rock is vulnerable to having his energy absorbed.[15]

Shock Rock's constructs can unintentionally shock humans who come in contact with them.[16][17]

Shock Rock's electric attacks are useless against rubber materials.[18][19]

Trivia[]

  • Shock Rock's existence was first teased when his silhouette appeared on the upgraded Omnitrix's dial at the end of Omni-Tricked: Part 4.
  • Shock Rock's name is sometimes misspelled as "Shockrock", such as in the Alien Worlds short for his home planet of Fulmas.
  • Shock Rock replaces Upgrade in the active playlist.[20]
    • However, the opening intro for season 2 would not be updated to have Shock Rock in place of Upgrade until Half-Sies.
  • For marketing purposes, Shock Rock is considered an Omni-Enhanced alien. As such, his toy is sold as Omni-Enhanced Shock Rock.[merch 3]
  • Despite being introduced in the Reboot, Shock Rock also exists in the Classic Continuity.[DR 2]
  • Shock Rock was created to introduce a cosmic threat outside of Vilgax, taking priority over electrical aliens from previous series that did not make the cut for the show.[DR 3]
  • Shock Rock is the only alien known to have more than one DNA pod inside of the Omnitrix, though Ben technically created another Fulmini pod by putting a piece of discarded Fulmini armor into a blank pod.

Notes[]

  1. In Innervasion Part 4: Mind Over Alien Matter, it is further explained that Glitch used Shock Rock's DNA pod to replace Upgrade's. This would indirectly create the Omni-Enhanced Forms, as the Fulmini DNA was spontaneously effecting the other aliens in the active playlist.
  2. Starting with this instance, the Fulmini DNA would send a beacon/signal to the Fulmini on Fulmas every time Ben transforms into Shock Rock.
  3. Around this time, the Fulmini DNA began to directly influence on Ben even when he was not transformed, causing voices to manifest in his head, terrifying nightmares, and actions being taken while sleepwalking.
  4. After the Omnitrix was rebooted, the glitch in the Fulmini DNA pod was fixed, severing the DNA's connection to Fulmas, removing the Omni-Enhanced Forms, and making Shock Rock safer to use.
