Officer Wells was one of the local authorities in  Everybody Talks About the Weather, where he chased Alan Albright because he was accused of starting random fires all over the town. At the end of the episode, he seems to get on well with Alan and they co-operate to fight DNAliens. Officer Wells seems to guard the prisoners in the police station but doesn't do a good job at it as he was seen sleeping on the job.
