The Forever Knights are an organization of human supremacist knights frequently fought by Ben and his team. Created by Sir George, they have existed for hundreds of years. They were first introduced in the Original Series, initially under the codename The Organization and have become recurring antagonists in the franchise.

In Ultimate Alien, it is revealed that the organization had various factions, each with their own motivations and goals, until Sir George reunited them under a single goal: slaying the Dagon.

In Omniverse, the Forever Knights are nothing more than small remnants after the war against Dagon and the Esoterica.

Appearance[]

The Forever Knights operate according to the Medieval way: their members dress in metal suits of armor, complete with the appropriate, albeit heavily enhanced, weaponry: swords and spears and the like.

With the exception of some high-ranking leaders, members always covered their face with helmets or masks. The helmets are closed and leave small slits for viewing out of; while the masks have larger eye and mouth slits, which create a face, initially stern but later styled to resemble comedy/tragedy masks. Scientist non-knight variants also covered their faces with skin-tight masks.

At least one faction wore a dress code of long overcoats and flat-brimmed hats over their armor when going out in public.

When Sir George returned and unified the factions, the Knights started using sleeker-looking armor of a different material, and improved energy-based weaponry.

The remaining Knights of Omniverse wear combinations of the previous armors, face coverings, and armor materials.

The coat of arms of the Forever Knights has changed across time and factions but has always featured either a triangular shield or an infinity symbol. Variations include "bones" near the shield, the infinity symbol incorporated into a sword, or the infinity symbol held in the center of the shield.

Goals[]

Forever Knights, our time has come. This is why we exist. All the other false purposes of the Forever Knights; gathering technology, fighting dragons; nonsense and corruption of our one true mission. As we did upon our founding, so shall we do again. Together, we shall slay the Dagon and save the very Earth! This I swear!

Sir George.[1]

Each faction of the Forever Knights had their own goals and motives.

Sir Driscoll's faction wanted to rule the world and usually collect powerful alien technology to achieve their goals. They use any means to achieve power like obtaining the Sword of Ek Chua or replacing the President of the United States with a robot.[DM 1]

Patrick's faction's goal is to slay a dragon (actually an alien) that had been captured 1,000 years prior.[2] This fuels their acquisition of both human and alien technologies in hopes of finding a weapon that can kill it. This dedication is shown to have evolved into an obsession such that they are willing to exterminate an entire planet of dragon aliens, twisting it into a genocidal policy toward anything alien. This goal has been misunderstood throughout generations as the dragon they are supposed to eliminate is Dagon.

The Forever Knight's real and ultimate goal, as intended by Sir George, the true founder of the organization, was to protect the Earth from Dagon and his followers by destroying them through any means necessary.[3] Because of this, it also became their goal to rid the world of unnatural creatures, alien or otherwise unearthly.[4] To this end, they see themselves as the rightful protectors of the world.

The Forever Knights were founded upon the ideal of protecting Earth and, as such, the Knights see themselves as the "good guys".

History[]

Prior to Ben 10[]

The Forever Knights were formed during the Middle Ages,[merch 1] specifically 1000 years ago.[5] There are many orders of Forever Knights all over the world. They first came to the U.S. in the 1920's.[pop-up 1][6]

Ben 10[]

The Forever Knights (Driscoll's faction) first appeared in A Small Problem, where they were first known as "The Organization" (this is one of their code-names they use to prevent anyone linking them to their crimes).[pop-up 2][6] They attempt to dissect Grey Matter (who was caught by Howell, who thought that the Forever Knights would make him and his discovery famous), however Enoch told Howell that the Forever Knights would rather keep their alien technology discoveries private.

When Max and Gwen went to rescue Ben, the Tennysons had their first encounter with the Forever Knights. Though they and Howell escaped, the Forever Knights' secret base was destroyed, along with the alien technology stored inside. Outraged with their loss, Enoch instructed the Forever Knights to find out everything to know about the Tennysons.

In Ultimate Weapon, Enoch's Forever Knights attempted to recover the Sword of Ek Chuaj. Ultimately, they succeeded, but the ancient sword crumbled to dust in Enoch's hands, and the pyramid it was hidden in collapsed on top of them. This also marked the first time their formal name would be used.

In Perfect Day, the Forever Knights returned attempting to steal the Omnitrix while trapping Ben in a dream world, using some sort of dream-inducing device. While Ben was in the dream world being monitored by Enoch, the other Forever Knights present were using their technology to remove the Omnitrix. They were stopped by Gwen and Grandpa Max they hacked into the dream Ben was in to free him, and XLR8 later trapping Enoch in a fantasy world where he succeeded in claiming the Omnitrix. After Enoch was defeated by the Tennyson's, a mysterious Forever Knight came to Enoch's dream machine and attempted to remove the dream machine on Enoch, Then The Forever King said to the Forever Knight (which was revealed to be the Red Knight) to not remove the dream machine on Enoch because of his multiple failure's. From then the Forever King said that from now on he will deal with the Tennyson's.

The rest of the Forever Knights return in Ben 10 vs. Negative 10: Part 1 and Part 2 to help their leader, the so-called Forever King, Driscoll, and a robotic minion called the Red Knight, who sought to obtain the Sub-Energy, the world's strongest energy source that was located inside of the Plumbers Complex in Mt. Rushmore, where they also team up with 8 more treacherous villains in order to fight Ben and defeat him.

Alien Force[]

Patrick's faction of Forever Knights appears in Ben 10: Alien Force. This group trades in illegal alien technology[merch 1] and dress in full plate armor similar to that of a medieval knight, as opposed to the less medieval-style armor the splinter group wore previously. This armor has an infinity symbol on the abdomen, symbolizing the "Forever" in their name.

Patrick's Forever Knights first appear in Ben 10 Returns: Part 1, engaging in a deal over Laser Lances with the DNAliens with Kevin as the middleman.

Though they are allied with the Highbreed and the DNAliens, Patrick's Forever Knights were unaware of their true intentions.[merch 1]

In Be-Knighted, it is revealed that they had kept a dragon-like alien mapmaker imprisoned for a thousand years and had broken it's Universal Translator so that it could not verbally communicate. After it escaped into space with the help of Ben, the Forever Knights will be ready if more of them come. Notably, the true Forever King is Patrick.

Ultimate Alien[]

The Forever Knights also returned to the Ben 10: Ultimate Alien in Duped. They were led by King Urien, who hunted for Toltech Battle Armor.

In Andreas' Fault, the Forever Knights served Argit to prevent him from having Andreas destroy their castles until he was stopped by Sir Dagonet.

In Reflected Glory, the Forever Knights try to take an energy decoupler from an alien robot, but they were once again defeated by Ben and his team.

In Eye of the Beholder, the Forever Knights attack the team in the open street with high-tech horse-like vehicles. They were all trashed by the team.

In The Creature from Beyond, it is shown that Sir Cyrus is from a faction of the Forever Knights that follows the true path from the ones led by Patrick, Urien, and Driscoll as his faction follows the ways of the First Knight.

In The Purge, it is revealed that the First Knight is really Sir George who ends up having the Forever Knight factions reunited into one organization.

In A Knight to Remember Ben and his team went to the Forever Knights' hideout to tell them that Sir Winston is a part of the Flame Keepers' Circle. Sir Driscoll tells them about Dagon and how Sir George defeated it, after Ben demands answers. He also tells about a shrine where Dagon's heart is located. They find the shrine after Gwen deciphers the clues left by George, but the Forever Knights betray Ben and his team. After arriving, the Forever Knights find George at the entrance of the shrine and enter it. The FKC appears and fights the Forever Knights, while Vilgax absorbs the power of Ascalon and Dagon's heart, giving him unlimited power.

Vilgax defeats all of the FKC and the Forever Knights, after Conduit Edwards realizes the FKC has been tricked. When he senses there is more, a Dagon-controlled Winston appears and says to Vilgax that, to gain even more power he must break the seal that holds the Lucubra. Vilgax finally gets tricked after breaking the seal and is sucked into Dagon's dimension, while Sir George regains Ascalon and his youth.

George and his new Forever Knights

In Solitary Alignment, Ben and his team infiltrate Area 51 to find George.

In The Beginning of the End, the Forever Knights fought against the Esoterica as well as Ben and the gang (as they did not believe that he was serving as an ally to Sir George). A group of Forever Knights followed Sir George and Winston into the cave where the seal of Dagon's dimension was kept. Following Winston's death, the Forever Knights insisted that they fight Vilgax, Dagon's new "pawn", on behalf of Sir George, stating that he would need his strength to fight Dagon. Although the Forever Knights were able to fend off Vilgax's initial attacks, they were eventually overpowered and severely wounded. Ben passed these wounded Forever Knights on his way to assist Sir George.

In The Ultimate Enemy: Part 1 and Part 2, as Sir George allied himself with the gang, the Forever Knights later joined Ben in attempting to take down Dagon by continuing to fight in the war against the FKC. Some of the Forever Knights, specifically the unhelmeted ones, were converted into Esotericas but later became normal.

The Forever Knights were largely wiped out in the war against the Esoterica[DJW 1] and broken up as a result.[MW 1]

Omniverse[]

In Return to Forever, the Forever Knights were revealed to still be active, but just barely - the battle with Dagon had reduced the organization to a mere remnant led by Joseph Chadwick and Sir Morton has been revealed to still be alive. Chadwick attempted to use the Highbreed Pulse Generator in a combination with the DNA Scanner to help destroy all alien species on Earth, leaving humanity standing. However, Chadwick and The Forever Knights' plan was foiled by Ben, Rook, and Jimmy.

The Knights were seen in Bengeance is Mine, fighting Rook and Water Hazard at Pakmar's Loofah Emporium. After Water Hazard destroyed the place, the knights got away.

The Knights returned in the episode An American Benwolf in London, searching for a super strength serum created by Dr. Jekyll, a supposed fictional scientist who was in fact, a member of the Knights. They kidnapped Wes Green, using him as leverage to get his granddaughter Kai, Ben, and Rook to give them the Occulata, twin devices they had found that would reveal the entrance to the Vault of Britannia, which contained the legendary sword Excalibur.

Chadwick planned to use the serum to gain the strength needed to remove the sword from the stone and use it to restore the Forever Knights to their former glory. However, even with his added strength, he was unable to do so, and the plan was foiled by Ben, Rook, and Kai. It is unknown what became of the Forever Knights after this.

Power and Abilities[]

Equipment[]

Forever Knights are ordinary humans in armor who utilize a wide array of weapons, themed after medieval knights and created through study of alien technology. These include: laser lances, kinetic lances, energy-based kite shields, and laser crossbows. They also possess energy swords and real swords; the former is often use for combat while the latter is used strictly for ceremonial purposes.

In addition to their main arsenal of weaponry, Forever Knights have multiple vehicles and mechanical inventions to assist them. These include hover-cycles, plasma beam tanks, giant mechanical horse-like walkers, and draconic automaton guards. The Knights also seem to have teleportation technology within their armory. Most of the Knights' leaders, such as Sir Driscoll, use advanced powered armor in battle. It is mentioned that the Knights possess starships.

The Forever Knight splinter group also appear in the video game Ben 10: Protector of Earth on the second, third and fourth levels, but are shown not to be villains as such when you complete the South West section, later in the game because they manage to discover Vilgax's plan to make a giant Null Void Projector and send Earth into the Null Void. they attempt to use Cannonbolt's DNA extracted from the Omnitrix, combined with a giant robot, to take down Vilgax before it's too late. However, Ben, mistaking Enoch for the main villain, destroys his robot, almost kills him, and makes him unable to stop Vilgax.

Trivia[]

  • Originally, the Forever Knights were like "Anti-Plumbers", exploiting unusual threats instead of fighting them.[pop-up 3][6] This was retconned in Alien Force, as the Forever Knights were revealed to be highly xenophobic.[2]
  • During production on the original series, the Forever Knights were planned to be an individual instead of an organization. This concept would eventually be reused for the Forever Knights' Reboot Continuity counterpart.[DR 1]
  • Enoch's family was in the Forever Knights for centuries.[pop-up 4][6]
  • In the original series, the Forever Knights sought out powerful weapons and technology.[pop-up 5][6] They wanted the Omnitrix as part of their "quest" for obtaining alien technology.[pop-up 6][8]
  • While the Forever Knights factions were divided through their various goals, they all did have one goal in common: killing Ben and his team for their constant interference in their plans.
  • After the war with Dagon, all the Forever Knights' Plumber files are listed as "presumed deceased."[9][10]
  • The infinity symbol, as featured on Forever Knights' coat of arms in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, is in reference to the word "Forever" in their name.
    • The Forever Knight coat of arms in Omniverse is a combination of their old one from the original series and Alien Force.
  • The Forever Knights are the first original series villains to appear in Alien Force[11] and Ultimate Alien.[12]
  • The Forever Knights have an armor version in the game FusionFall.
  • At some point in the planning stages of Arc 6 of Omniverse, the Rooters were supposed have had ties to the Forever Knights.[DJW 2]
  • The Forever Knights parallel some of the extreme xenophobic groups in history that have sought the extermination of others, such as the Nazi Party or Ku Klux Klan.
  • The Forever Knights bear much resemblance to the Brotherhood of Steel from the Fallout franchise. Like the Forever Knights, the Brotherhood is also a knightly order dedicated to collecting and studying advanced technology, are xenophobic towards anything that is not human, are divided into several chapters and see themselves as the only path to Earth's salvation.
  • Upon being overpowered, Knights will often shout "Run away, run away!", before engaging in the said action; this is a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where the same phrase is uttered by King Arthur on several occasions, most notably after facing a murderous rabbit.
