Aerophibians[1][2] are a small grouping of species from the planet Aeropela,[merch 1] classified by their unique capability to thrive in both its waters and winds.[merch 2] Only one species of Aerophibian have been observed.

Appearance[]

Aerophibians are large, red and yellow aliens similar in appearance to a manta-ray. They have hands and feet with three digits, as well as yellow horns above their eyes, and a yellow stripe leading down to yellow lips. They also have lizard-like tails, and ray-like patagia, which are yellow on the front and red on the back. Their sides have markings that resemble gills and they have a matching pair of zigzag/lightning strike patterns around their upper torso.

Only male natural Aerophibians have been seen, so it is unknown what female Aerophibians look like.

Behavior[]

The Aerophibians' ability to survive in both the air and water excludes them from the rest of the species on Aeropela. Therefore, they have great physical and political leverage over others. The Aerophibians often utilize this leverage to serve as intermediaries and ambassadors between the other species, who would otherwise be forever separated by their environment.[merch 2]

Powers and Abilities[]

Aerophibians can fire neuroshock blasts capable of shutting down an organic being's nervous system from their eyes and tail. These blasts are strong enough to blow a hole in a car's engine block,[merch 1] knock down a Pyronite[3] and an Amperi,[4] and even cause great discomfort to a Vaxasaurian[5] and destroy a Sonorosian with just one shot.[6]

An Aerophibian's neuroshock blasts are capable of starting fires with flammable objects, as demonstrated by Swift.[7]

Aerophibians can fly at speeds several times the speed of sound.[merch 1] They can maneuver through the air with little to no flapping and extreme precision, unmatched by anything on Earth[merch 2]; as well as being able to accelerate to great speeds with ease. Aerophibians are also fast enough to create sonic booms[8] and enter hyperspace.[9][note 1] Though, on the ground, Aerophibians are slower than Kinecelerans.[DM 1]

Aerophibians have enhanced strength, which was demonstrated by Ultimate Ben using Jetray's powers, where he was strong enough to catch a fast-moving Rust Bucket 3 in midair and ground it before it fell into a cliff.[10]

Aerophibians are durable enough to withstand multiple blows from Vilgax and gunfire from a fighter jet.[11] Aerophibians are also immune to radiation, as Jetray could withstand a Prypiatosian-B's radioactive blasts.[12] Additionally, Aerophibians are also immune to fire and intense heat, such as fire generated by a Pyronite and Vilgax's sword.[3][13]

Aerophibians can safely fly through the Earth's atmosphere and into space, and travel on an interstellar level.[14][9] Jetray can also breathe and swim fast underwater.[15][16][17]

Aerophibians are immune to electricity, as demonstrated by Swift.[4] While Aerophibians may be resistant to electricity, Jetray and Swift have been shown to be potentially hurt by the force of electric attacks.[17][7]

Aerophibian tails are prehensile, as shown when Jetray carried Gwen while flying up in the air.[18]

In addition to their tails, the feet of Aerophibians are also prehensile, as Jetray was able to carry a Vaxasaurian in the air with his feet without being tired or weighed down.[5]

Weaknesses[]

An Aerophibian's neuroshock blasts are useless against certain mechanical-like species like Talpaedans[19] and robots like Computron's minions.[20]

An Aerophibian's neuroshock blasts can hurt themselves, as seen when they struck Jetray after being deflected by the Stalker.[21]

Aerophibians are vulnerable to strong winds.[22]

Aerophibians can become drowsy if he is hit by quills of a member of Argit's species, as demonstrated by Swift.[7]

Aerophibians cannot fly in Legerdomain due to its sky being unparalleled to Earth's.[23][24]

Aerophibians can be ensnared by an Arachnichimp's webs.[5]

Aerophibians can be trapped within a plasma ball by a member of Ball Weevil's species, which was demonstrated by Swift.[4]

Etymology[]

The name Aerophibian is derived from "aero" and "amphibian".

Notes[]

  1. According to Derrick J. Wyatt, Jetray's ability to jump into hyperspace was due to a mistake.[DJW 1][DJW 2] Matt Wayne also states that Jetray cannot travel near or at light speed. However, the exact limit has never been established.[MW 1]
