“ | You would hunt the hunter? You forget your place. You are prey. | ” |
– Kraab.[2] |
Kraab is a cybernetically-enhanced Piscciss Premann and was one of three alien bounty hunters sent by Vilgax to retrieve the Omnitrix from Ben Tennyson.
Appearance[]
In the original series, Kraab resembled a fiddler crab with a goldish brown-colored armor, a sideways mouth, four scythe-like legs and a large, powerful pincer for a left hand. Within the pincer was a power blaster combined with a chemical sprayer. When he goes underground by spinning his legs, he retracts his head down, making his neck disappear. He had orange lines running over his body and his eyes had the same color as the highlights of his pincer.
In Alien Force, Kraab looked almost the same but had a copper and orange colorization except on his legs, where the brown part became black. His eyes were also brighter.
In Omniverse, his design is slightly different. The lower abdomen is larger and more spherical, and his claw arm now has a bolt and his shoulders are fully covered by armor plating. He maintains the red and orange color but with a paler tone. The lower parts of his legs end in a larger and sharper knee cap of sorts, and the lines on his body are brighter and narrower.
Personality[]
Kraab is a violent bounty hunter who talks like an actual hunter, calling Ben his "prey", and saying that he is "hardly worth the hunt". He also has an arrogant sense of humor.
History[]
Background[]
Kraab is a veteran of the Piscciss-Pyros wars, during which he suffered severe injuries, resulting in him having mechanical parts implanted in his damaged body. 95% of his body is now mechanical and just 5% remains as Piscciss Premann.[pop-up 1][1]
Ben 10[]
Kraab was one of the three bounty hunters hired by Vilgax to hunt down the Omnitrix in Hunted, the others being SixSix and Tetrax. He defeated Ghostfreak but was defeated when Grey Matter ripped out some wires from his neck, causing his body to go haywire.
Alien Force[]
Kraab reappeared in The Final Battle: Part 1, hired by an unknown client to hunt down Ben. He was frozen by Big Chill and left aboard the ship. Since Ben couldn't save the ship, it exploded, but Gwen and Kevin managed to save Kraab.
Omniverse[]
Kraab returned in Cough It Up, when Psyphon hired bounty hunters to find him a very precious item. He was first seen on the streets of Undertown, searching for it. Jimmy Jones chased him to the entrance of the Black Hole. Psyphon told the hunters that the item was stolen by someone who poisoned the guards with quills.
Kraab detonated one of Argit's office's walls and told Argit to give him the item. Argit was surprised to see him because he thought he was still in jail. Unfortunately for Kraab, Ben, Rook, and Spanner happened to be there too. Ben transformed into Frankenstrike and took out Kraab with one hit. Along with the other bounty hunters, Kraab was defeated by Argit's Techadon robots and banned from Undertown.
Powers and Abilities[]
Enhanced strength and durability are the tip of the iceberg compared to the rest of Kraab's arsenal. As a skilled hunter and being mostly cybernetic, Kraab is armed to the teeth with state-of-the-art weapons and gadgets, giving him the opportunity to land a blow on his target, not to mention his knowledge of species comes integral to dealing with them head-on.
He carries a sword on his back with length perfectly balance between the blade and the handle, but his main weapon is his big powerful claw for a right arm that can crush solid steel (the kind in which Vilgax's battle droids are made of) like tin cans. At the base of the pincers of that claw is a blaster scope that can utilize all kinds of ammo. That ammo includes but is not limited to concussive laser beams and an orange liquid chemical capable of solidifying an Ectonurite's protoplasm and neutralizing their intangibility. He also has a strong right hook and his four giant crap-like legs are serrated to a point which gives him a devastating impaler attack.[1]
Kraab's ocular receptors are equipped to see in visual spectrums that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye, as evident by his thermographic vision that could detect an Ectonurite in its camouflaged state.
Kraab's mechanical body makes him flexible, malleable, and adaptable, especially in battlefield situations. He can rotate his head 360 degrees around and he can burrow underground easily by retracting his head downwards into his chest plate and spinning his entire lower body to make his legs function as a mining drill.[1]
Kraab is accustomed to multiple alien languages; he's fluent in English and can understand the Sotoraggian language.[1]
Kraab can survive underwater, as he is amphibious.[pop-up 2][1]
Weaknesses[]
Kraab is more robotic than organic, meaning that a Galvan can interfere with his systems, causing him to lose control of himself and deactivate.[1]
Kraab can be immobilized by a Necrofriggian's ice breath.[2]
Kraab's lasers can be rendered ineffective against a species capable of becoming intangible, such as Ectonurites[1] and Necrofriggians.[2]
Kraab is vulnerable to electricity, such a Transylian's attacks.[3]
Kraab can be affected by a Nemuina's sleeping dust.[DJW 1]
Kraab can be controlled by Vladats via their Corrupturas.[DJW 1]

Trivia[]
- Kraab's Original Series design was made by Dave Johnson. When making him, he didn't think of what Kraab would look like without the armor.[DJ 1]
- It is unknown why Kraab kidnapped Ben in The Final Battle: Part 1, but since he's a bounty hunter, Dwayne McDuffie guessed he did it for pay.[DM 1]
- It is possible that Gutrot's species can replicate the liquid Kraab used to neutralize Ghostfreak's powers in a gaseous form.[DJW 2]
