The results were beyond anything I could've hoped for. Not only Galvan B was inhabitable, but there was an unforeseen consequence. My experiment had inadvertently prompted the creation of a brand new techno-organic species, the Galvanic Mechamorphs.

Azmuth, talking about the origin of Galvanic Mechamorphs.[1]

The Galvanic Mechamorphs[2][3] are a technological alien species accidentally created by the Galvan from Galvan Prime's moon, Galvan B.[1]

Appearance[]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are a techno-organic species with a gel-like body composed of small cell-like creatures called nanites.[pop-up 1][4] They have a green color scheme and have one cyclopean eye in the center of their face. Their bodies are covered entirely in a circuitry pattern that can vary from Mechamorph to Mechamorph. A Mechamorph's eyes can change shape depending on their emotion, such as pointing downwards in feelings of anger, or upwards in feelings of sadness or surprise.

Galvanic Mechamorphs can come in a variety of forms, some of them resembling animals, and some appearing as trees and other plants. They can also be thin, tall, robust, wide and even more "obese".

Some Galvanic Mechamorphs can come in different colors. For example, there was a blue Galvanic Mechamorph seen in the background in Ben 10,000 and a white one in Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix.

As they come in various shapes and forms, the large variety of silhouettes make it difficult to distinguish female Mechamorphs from males. The sole confirmed female Mechamorph has head proportions much more in line with that of a human, with a developed forehead and chin. She also has a more voluptuous figure and a comparatively shorter torso. Her legs were much longer than most of the males, but like other Mechamorphs, her arms reach past her knees.

History[]

The Galvanic Mechamorphs were first brought to life as a complete accident. Galvan B was originally an uninhabited moon, orbiting Galvan Prime. Galvan scientists, led by Azmuth, were originally working on a project to make Galvan B habitable, but it went farther than intended when a sentient new species came to life. It didn't take long before the first Galvanic Mechamorphs came to join the galactic community and meet their creators in person. Azmuth and the Galvan were surprised by the unexpected result of their experiment on Galvan B. Deciding they had no right to continue their colonization project, the Galvans allowed the Galvanic Mechamorphs to have their home. With the Galvans' help, the Galvanic Mechamorphs built a great civilization within days.

The Helix also created Malware, an incomplete Mechamorph by accident whose life code was corrupted and interrupted during creation.

The Galvan and Galvanic Mechamorphs are peaceful neighbors.[5][1]

Powers and Abilities[]

Due to being comprised entirely of nanites,[pop-up 2][4] Galvanic Mechamorphs are completely amorphous. Their humanoid forms can reshape and move like a liquid does.

Galvanic Mechamorphs have the ability to merge with and possess any technology by encasing their liquified body over it. The size of the device is not significant and they control it as naturally as they would their own body. When they merge, their black and green circuitry pattern spreads across the technology's surface to fit its proportions; although they also have the ability to perfectly replicate the technology's original colors.[6][7]

A Galvanic Mechamorph's technological possession can work on non-electrical machinery, such as a row machine in a gym.[8] Their ability even extends to sentient beings that are mechanical in nature, like Chronosapiens;[9][10] or, at most, organic beings with some machinery integrated within them, such as Rojo[8] and Rex.[11]

Galvanic Mechamorphs only need a part (or extremity) of their body to touch a piece of technology to begin possessing it, as shown with the grapple cable of Rook's Proto-Tool.[12] They don't need to completely inhabit technology to begin possessing it, and can in fact phase right through them without disturbing the integrity of their surface, as shown with a Mechadroid[13] and Rex.[11] Galvanic Mechamorphs can also make their head or face appear from anywhere on the machines they possess.[11]

A Galvanic Mechamorph's DNA is "programmed" with blueprints and intimate knowledge of every alien technology.[pop-up 3][14] This allows them to enhance any tech they are possessing into "ultra-tech",[merch 1] making it far more advanced and futuristic beyond human capability, and causing new features to form. After they separate from the machine, it returns to normal.

Galvanic Mechamorphs can also telekinetically move and control any piece of technology they are possessing, but that is not attached to their main body,[12] even while possessing something else as well.[15]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can transform the technology they are possessing with seemingly no limit, such as upgrading a baseball pitching machine to produce a seemingly infinite number of baseballs;[16] and transforming vehicles like the Rust Bucket and Kevin's car into battle-ready machines and mecha-suits.[17] They can also reconfigure their constructs at will to suit any situation, from summoning arsenals of heavy energy weapons and extra limbs, to changing their shape completely.[18] If a Galvanic Mechamorph possesses a computer or control terminal, they can read local information from it, hack it, and manipulate it to execute commands as they wish, even over entire networks. Upgrade has demonstrated this by assuming control of Gwen's laptop;[13] a video game console;[4] and the entire Plumber Headquarters.[19] If given external empowerment, Galvanic Mechamorphs can transport themselves and organic creatures into the world of a video game, and vice versa. Whilst inside, they can change and manipulate the game's code just by thinking it.[4]

Once merged, Galvanic Mechamorphs are capable of destroying and dismantling machines.[13][4] They can also repair damaged machinery with ease and come out unscathed, as demonstrated by Azmuth when he used the Retaliator Armor to absorb the pieces of the destroyed Rust Bucket and reassemble them anew.[7] They are also able to restore manipulated or conjoined technologies back to their original states.[17]

Due to their nanite, liquid-like physiology, Galvanic Mechamorphs' bodies are very mobile and hard to pin down. They can pass through all sorts of small spaces;[20] create holes in their body for projectiles to pass through;[12] can be bisected any number of times, with no harm done to them;[21] and can easily rejoin any separated pieces of themselves.[7]

In their humanoid forms, Galvanic Mechamorphs are also very flexible, and can stretch themselves very far. Upgrade was able to stretch his body's width to the point of acting like a parachute to save him from a fall.[13] They can also alter their own size, as demonstrated by a Mechamorph Guard.[22] On top of modifying the shape of their humanoid form, Galvanic Mechamorphs can extend from any part of their body cable or hand-like structures, as demonstrated by Malware.[1] Upgrade once used both of these powers to mimic the shape and body structure of a Tetramand, complete with the extra pair of arms.[7]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can use their shapeshifting to form various weapons and tools from their body, both while in their humanoid form or when possessing technology. They have been shown forming tentacles, spikes[15] and spiked maces.[4]

In having a vast library to draw upon, some Galvanic Mechamorphs have been able to mimic and shapeshift into technology without needing to possess it,[DR 1] as well as non-electrical items, as demonstrated by Ship[23] and a Mechamorph Guard.[22][note 1]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can generate solid constructs made of their nanites, such as pillars[24] and spikes,[25] as demonstrated by Malware.

By energizing their biomechanical blood,[pop-up 4][4] Galvanic Mechamorphs can launch a powerful green plasma blast from their eye.[26][27][21] The blast can also explode on contact, or be made to create a delayed spherical explosion at their target destination, as demonstrated by several members of the species.[25]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can generate electrical charges capable of shocking their opponents into submission. They can also conduct these charges throughout their body.[14][28]

Galvanic Mechamorphs possess enhanced strength, being able to throw a sewer lid at a Nosedeenian;[26] push Vilgax off of a ship;[13] and overpower Viktor.[27]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are durable enough to withstand a blast from the Proto-Tool without physical damage.[12]

Being inorganic, Galvanic Mechamorphs are able to survive in the vacuum of space.[27] They also don't need to breathe underwater, as shown by Malware.[1]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are immune to being transformed into an Esoterica by Dagon, and can use their body to shield others from the same, as demonstrated by Ship.[29] Galvanic Mechamorphs are also resistant to fire and strong heat.[1]

Due to being technological, Galvanic Mechamorphs possess digitalized vision.[30] Their circuitry also glows in the dark.[7]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are capable of transmitting distress signals, as demonstrated by Ship.[31] Galvanic Mechamorphs are also able to store people or objects within their bodies, as demonstrated by Malware.[1][25]

Galvanic Mechamorphs have the ability to manipulate the environment of Galvan B.[25]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are able to spawn smaller animalistic Mechamorphs, as shown when Baz-l spawned Ship.[31] However, it is only possible to do so once they have absorbed an animalistic Galvanic Mechamorph.[DJW 3]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can travel through electrical currents.[20]

Galvanic Mechamorphs have also been shown generating energy-based constructs, such as a green energy spike[30] and a beam of light that can harm an Ectonurite.[21] Ship has been shown to able to track down the Omnitrix and Plumber Badges.[31][note 2]

Weaknesses[]

A Galvanic Mechamorph's control over machines is not absolute, as sapient, intelligent machines like Slix Vigma can easily fight off Galvanic Mechamorphs if they merge with them against their will.[32] They may also be unable to override some security systems or combat computer viruses, such as those of the Megacruiser[32] and Plumber Headquarters, respectively.[19]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can be forcefully separated from technology, as demonstrated by Rojo.[8]

When possessing technology, Galvanic Mechamorphs are able to falter in producing constructs exactly how they had envisioned them, seen when Upgrade upgraded an urban assault vehicle by adding even more guns to it.[7][note 3]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can be hurt if they are pulled and stretched hard enough, as shown when Upgrade was being pulled and stretched by Dr. Animo's Mutant Squid.[14]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are sensitive to electromagnetic pulses/fields[33] and magnetic fields.[34]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can be powered down by a Repo Boot, as demonstrated with Ship.[35]

Being swarms of nanomachines, Galvanic Mechamorphs are weak against electricity, such as that generated by Nosedeenians[26] and Conductoids, the latter of which has been demonstrated with Malware.[24]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are vulnerable to having their energy absorbed, which leaves them petrified afterwards.[25]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are weak against acid[AC 1] and intense heat such as lava.[DJW 4] This is because any sort of corrosive can upset their delicate chemistry.[merch 1]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are vulnerable to being possessed by an Ectonurite.[DJW 5]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can be controlled by Vladats via their Corrupturas.[DJW 6]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can be trapped in crystals by Petrosapiens, as demonstrated with Malware.[1]

Galvanic Mechamorphs can be affected by technorganic viruses[DJW 7] and a Nemuina's sleeping dust.[DJW 8]

Galvanic Mechamorphs are vulnerable to being turned into smoothies by Squirtapiller's species.[DJW 9]

Etymology[]

The name Galvanic Mechamorph is a portmanteau of the prefix "mecha-", meaning machine, and the suffix "-morph", meaning form or transform. The "Galvanic" portion of their name refers to their origin as a creation of the Galvan.

Trivia[]

  • When first mentioned by name, Xylene erroneously referred to the species as "Glavanic Mechamorph".[2]
  • Some Galvanic Mechamorphs have plant-like forms or animal-like forms like Ship.[DJW 13]
  • Galvanic Mechamorphs have no natural predator due to the nature of their creation.[DJW 14]
  • The nanites that a Galvanic Mechamorph's body is comprised of are not related to the ones seen in the Generator Rex Universe.[DR 2]
  • Galvanic Mechamorphs do not wear clothes, partly because they are artificial life that do not need them, and because they are considered rare and very beautiful by people of the galaxy that know of them. In Derrick J. Wyatt's opinion, the only Mechamorph that would wear clothes is Baz-l,[DJW 15] despite him being naked during his appearances in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien.[DM 1]
  • The Omnitrix has failsafes installed by Azmuth that prevent Galvanic Mechamorphs from tampering with the device.[DJW 16]
  • Galvanic Mechamorphs could probably fuse with Microchips.[DJW 17]
  • When asked why the Galvanic Mechamorphs featured in Omniverse were all green, Derrick speculated that the Mechamorphs that stayed home on their moon were monitored and tended to by Azmuth, and as Azmuth upgraded the Mechamorphs, their colors and circuitry patterns grew and changed. Other Mechamorphs that left their moon for outer space would look different.[DJW 18]

Notes[]

  1. However, according to Derrick J. Wyatt, Upgrade is not able to mimic technology[DJW 1] and that the Mechamorph Guard having the ability was a production error due to someone on the crew not having the basic understanding of how Upgrade works.[DJW 2]
  2. However, it is unknown if Galvanic Mechamorphs naturally possess this ability, or if they need to possess technology to gain access to it.
  3. Though, it is unknown if this was caused by Upgrade making a mistake on his own, or if the vehicle's automated programming had any influence over him.
