Dude, watch the puns! Pretty soon, you use up all the eye-conic ones, and they just get cornea and cornea...

– Eye Guy to Freeze-Ghost.[1]

Eye Guy (alternatively spelled as Eyeguy)[2] is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of an Opticoid from the planet Sightra.[note 1]

Appearance[]

Eye Guy's entire upper-body is covered with green eyes, around 20 of them; although he ironically has no eyes on his face, which consists of a mouth and a very large pair of elastic[1] bat-like ears. He has dark tan skin with a lighter tone of tan on his chest and the underside of his arms. His entire skeleton is made of cartilage, not bones.[OV Brief 1]

In the Original Series, Eye Guy wore black pants with white bands on them and a white belt with the original Omnitrix symbol on it. He had light green eyes with dark green pupils, and one giant primary eye in the center of his chest. His feet were light in color, but in all following designs his feet match the same dark yellow as on his body.

In Ultimate Alien, Eye Guy looked the same as before, except his feet were darker and the big eye on his chest was replaced by his Ultimatrix symbol.

In Omniverse, 16-year-old Eye Guy's eyes are now bigger, recolored slightly brighter, and placed symmetrically on his body. His chest eye is now closed by default, and he now has two additional eyes on his palms. His pants now have green cuffs replacing the white bands; the main belt where the Omnitrix symbol is located is recolored green with a white stripe; and he additionally wears green cuffs on his hands.

11-year-old Eye Guy looks mostly the same as he did in the Original Series, albeit he has the palm eyes, eye placement, and pupil color of his 16-year-old self. He wears black foot sleeves; white bands respective to the green cuffs; and the original Omnitrix symbol on his belt is recolored green.

Powers and Abilities[]

Similar to the compound vision of an insect, Eye Guy's eyes give him 360-degree vision,[note 2] making it extremely difficult to sneak up on him.[6] The eyes on his hands further allow him to peer around corners or obstacles.[OV Brief 1][7] Furthermore, he can "smell" and see trails of certain chemicals with his eyes, as shown when he was able to see the trail of Mr. Baumann's cologne.[8]

Eye Guy has ophthalmokinesis, which allows him to control and alter the many eyes on his body. He can move his eyes across the surface of his body and merge them together to create one bigger eye.[6] By closing all his other eyes,[note 3] he can open his chest eye and further bring it out on a stalk to point it around.[8]

From any of the eyes on his torso, Eye Guy can fire out green[note 4] energy beams and they can be fired from multiple eyes at once.[11] They can easily push objects or people far away;[6][7] and are powerful enough to shatter metal[12] and slice trees clean in half, as demonstrated by 12-year-old Mutant Kevin.[7] Eye Guy's chest eye can charge up and fire larger and more powerful beams of super concentrated energy.[OV Brief 1] These beams are capable of shattering Rock Monsters in one shot[13] and, if sustained, can ignite an explosive barrel and overload machinery.[9]

The eyes all over Eye Guy's body can each fire a different kind of beam:[OV Brief 1] Besides simple energy beams, he can shoot blasts of green fire;[14] green freeze rays that encase and immobilize a target in ice on contact;[12] green bolts of electricity;[9][6] green bolts of electricity capable of freezing foes, such as Clancy;[6] and blasts of sticky eye goop.[OV Brief 1]

Eye Guy has enhanced durability, being able to take punches from the Galactic Gladiator,[11] and an energy blast from the Mutant Giraffe directly to the face.[15]

Eye Guy is capable of performing great acrobatic and gymnastic feats, as well as jumping several feet high.[9][12]

Eye Guy has good reflexes, capable of dodging incoming attacks.[1]

Weaknesses[]

If an irritant such as Gracklflint venom gets in his eyes, Eye Guy's eyes will burn and he will briefly be unable to see clearly. Because he has eyes over the majority of his body, he is more vulnerable to being exposed to and hurt by such irritants.[4]

Eye Guy's multiplied vision can be a weakness to the person transformed as him; if they look at something or someone that they have a fear of, like Zombozo, they will now see many of them and become more frightened than normal.[5]

Trivia[]

  • Eye Guy is the first alien to be unlocked off-screen; this trend would later be followed by Arctiguana, Feedback, and Fasttrack.
  • In Omniverse, Eye Guy has a tendency to make puns involving the word "eye" or organs related to the eye.
  • Eye Guy is the only alien used by both Ben Prime and Ben 23 to share the same name. Feedback does not count because he was originally named "Plug Man".[16]
    • This led to Ben Prime admitting that he thinks the name is "pretty lame".[1]
    • In the Brazilian dub, Eye Guy has two names: "Mega Olhos" and "Olhudo", and in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Ben World: Part 2. When Ben 23 as Freeze-Ghost says "Mega Olhos", Ben Prime as Eye Guy says that this name is "pretty lame". However, "Olhudo" is the Portuguese equivalent of Eye Guy and "Mega Olhos" is a much better translation for the Brazilian Portuguese language.
  • Eye Guy's Original Series design was created by Thomas Perkins and modeled after bats.[TP 2]

Notes[]

  1. According to Thomas Perkins, Eye Guy's species was not named during production of the Original Series.[TP 1] Despite this, on July 4, 2009, this page was edited by anonymous user, claiming that Eye Guy was an Opticoid from the planet Sightra. The page for Opticoids was later created on September 14, 2009 by another anonymous user, and the page for Sightra was created on October 19, 2009 by a user named The Ultimate Necrofriggian. No source for Opticoid or Sightra was provided in any of these instances, and they were not mentioned in any official media or merchandise. However, in FusionFall, released in 2009, Eye Guy was mentioned as being a Scleran.[FusionFall 1] The master brief for Omniverse would later call Eye Guy an Opticoid from the planet Sightra,[OV Brief 1] thus canonizing them as his species and planet, respectively.[3]
  2. Eye Guy's vision was first portrayed on-screen as all green,[4] before being different later on.[5]
  3. In the Original Series, Eye Guy was able to freely fire both charged and uncharged beams from his chest eye without needing to close his other eyes; the only exception being when he brought the eye out on a stalk.[9] As of Omniverse, Eye Guy always closes his eyes whenever firing from his chest eye.
  4. Alternate versions of Eye Guy are shown firing optic energy beams in different colors. For example, Ben 23's Eye Guy fires blue beams[10] while 12-year-old Mutant Kevin fired red beams.[7]
