Ben Tennyson and Kevin Levin have one of the closest relationships in the Ben 10 franchise.

History

Ben 10

Levin (971) — Ben and Kevin end their partnership

In the Original Series, Ben met Kevin when the game he was trying to play at Total Zone "ate" his money. From there, Kevin appeared and used his powers to give Ben some tokens. Despite a warning from Gwen, Ben runs away with Kevin into the streets of New York City. After nearly getting caught by police for trying to play a Sumo Slammers video game before it came out, the two formed a "partnership" and proceeded to rob a train full of money. Ben found out that the train had people in it and decided to stop Kevin from killing innocent lives, causing a fight between Heatblast and a Pyronite-mutated Kevin. Ben successfully stopped the collision of the train, but Kevin escaped and went loose on the city. After being picked up by Max, the trio went to where Ben expected Kevin to be and soon a fight between Four Arms and a Tetramand-mutated Kevin began. After losing, Kevin faked wanting to join Ben and the others in order to try to steal the Omnitrix, only to seemingly fail. It was then revealed that Kevin had actually absorbed the aliens' abilities.

In Back With a Vengeance, Kevin teamed up with Vilgax to take Ben down.

Despite their rivalry, Ben has always been secretly sorry for what happened to Kevin.^{[pop-up 1]}^[2]

Five Years Prior to Omniverse

11-year-old Ben and 12-year-old Kevin still retained their relationship as enemies from the Original Series.

In a flashback presented in Weapon XI: Part 2, Ben, Gwen, and Max encountered Kevin again, but this time Kevin was with the Amalgam Kids. Ben as Eye Guy managed to knock and pin Kevin down to the ground, but Kevin once again touched the Omnitrix symbol and underwent another mutation that transformed Kevin into an alien hybrid that consisted of the other 10 aliens Ben unlocked in the Original Series. Kevin went insane and started to attack everyone including his own allies, but Argit knocked out Kevin and Kevin transformed back into normal. Kevin, Argit, and the Amalgam Kids returned to the Null Void.

In From Hedorium to Eternity, Ben and Gwen (along with their cousin Lucy and friends Cooper and Jonesy) encountered Kevin again in the underground of Collins' Manor and they joined forces to stop Zs'Skayr and his Ectonurite minions from taking over the planet. Although Ben and Kevin still retained their antagonistic relationship from the Original Series, Ben eventually learned to trust Kevin, but Kevin once again got stuck in the Null Void. Ben and Gwen never encountered Kevin again until four years later when they had developed into teenagers.

Alien Force

In Ben 10 Returns: Part 1, Ben and Gwen found Kevin making an illegal deal with the DNAliens and Forever Knights. After a fight in which the Omnitrix recalibrated, Ben and Gwen asked for Kevin's help in taking down the DNAliens. Ben didn't trust Kevin at first, but nonetheless invited him to join his team.

In Ben 10 Returns: Part 2, Ben, Gwen and Kevin infiltrate into an Highbreed ship, by Ben using an ID Mask to disguise himself as a DNAlien. After they were discovered, fought the DNAliens and the Highbreed, and destroyed its ship, Gwen and Kevin find Ben, then Ben thanks Kevin for helping them.

Ultimate Alien

Ben and Kevin's friendship had grown stronger compared to Alien Force.

In Fame, Kevin yelled at Jimmy for ruining Ben's life, after he revealed his secret to the world, showing that Kevin cared about how Ben's identity being revealed would affect him.

PH (296) — Kevin says he owes Ben and Gwen for changing his life

In Perplexahedron, Ben told Kevin that he considered him the big brother he never had. Kevin then said that he was grateful that Ben and Gwen gave him another chance, and that he owed them for changing his life.

In The Ultimate Sacrifice, Kevin admitted during his battle with a Mechamorph Guard that Ben truly is his best friend.

Omniverse

The More Things Change, Part 1 (135) — Ben and Kevin's last moments before he leaves to Friedkin University with Gwen

Ben and Kevin were still shown to be best friends whenever Kevin and/or Gwen comes to visit Bellwood, though Kevin was prone to being annoyed when Ben unintentionally wrecked his car during their battles with villains.

They also enjoyed cracking jokes and laughing with each other as in Mystery, Incorporeal when they disrespected Professor Xagliv's lesson, where she then dismissed them along with Rook and Gwen who angrily snapped at them while they tried to look innocent.

In Weapon XI: Part 1 and Weapon XI: Part 2, their friendship was once again put to the test as the Rooters believed Ben to be a dangerous threat known as the "Coming Storm" since he had the Omnitrix. Kevin turned on Ben, claiming that they're not friends, and joined the Rooters and the Amalgam Kids to end Ben. At the last minute, Kevin revealed that he was faking the whole time and that his plan was to set himself and the Amalgam Kids free from the Rooters' influence, stating to them that Ben is truly his best friend and is like a brother to him.
