Once I have all your powers combined, nothing can stop me from attaining the ultimate prize!

– Aggregor to his prisoners.[1]

Aggregor is a ruthless and cunning intergalactic criminal who is one of Ben Tennyson's most dangerous enemies.

Appearance[]

Aggregor's appearance is similar to that of a human but with small flesh-colored horns on his head and red eyes ringed with black marks. Other than that, he has long black hair and he wears a brown knee-length, open-chested tunic, baggy jeans, and black calf-high boots.

In a flashback in Escape from Aggregor, after absorbing the DNA of a Geochelone Aerios, Aggregor temporarily gained six holes on his torso, which he could open and close at will.

In Escape from Aggregor, Aggregor was seen wearing a Plumber Suit as a disguise.

Personality[]

Aggregor is a cruel, sadistic, menacing, and arrogant sociopath, who does whatever it takes to achieve his goals, having no remorse for any of his actions. He has a brilliant mind and is willing to go to extremes to succeed. Aggregor's abilities make him a daunting and formidable enemy, who can hold his own against even the Plumbers.[2] He fears no one and hungers for power.

Unlike most of Ben's other enemies, such as Vilgax and the Highbreed, Aggregor is more "hands-on" when fulfilling his schemes rather than relying on his robotic minions to do the work, instead using them for lesser duties, such as ship crew, manual labor, security, and distracting his enemies.

Additionally, Aggregor's power-hungry desires come from the desire of not letting others control him, hinted by his rebuttal to Kevin's claim of how absorbing energy causes Osmosians to go insane, calling them "lies told by the powerful to control the weak".[2] This also relates to his goal to possess ultimate power in order to control the entire universe.

History[]

Background[]

Sometime after Kevin and the Amalgam Kids failed to capture Ben, the Rooters created Aggregor as a lab experiment, using Kevin's DNA to create a perfect copy of his absorption powers. However, after Ben removed the Omnitrix, the Rooters wiped Aggregor's mind and set him free on the universe, since they did not need an army anymore.[DJW 1]

Studying the legends of the universe, Aggregor learned about the Forge of Creation[DM 1] and schemed to collect the pieces of the Map of Infinity to gain entry and absorb the powers of an infant Celestialsapien (which he refers to as the "Ultimate Prize"). That way, he would gain complete omnipotence.

In order to survive the dangerous journey of assembling the Map of Infinity, Aggregor captured five powerful aliens from the Andromeda Galaxy so that he could absorb all their powers and abilities into his own being using a machine he had built back on Osmos V. His chosen aliens were an Orishan named Bivalvan, a Geochelone Aerios named Galapagus, a Prypiatosian-B named P'andor, a Talpaedan named Andreas, and an Amperi named Ra'ad.

However, his prisoners were able to escape to Earth. Though it remains unclear how, he began tracking his missing prisoners using the signal of the Ultimatrix.

Aggregor's first appearance

Aggregor first appeared in Fame, where he located Bivalvan, who was expecting the Plumbers to arrive and send him back to Kiusana. As he recaptured his prisoner, Aggregor stated that no one escapes him.

In Escape from Aggregor, Aggregor recaptured Galapagus by disguising himself as a Plumber assigned to transport Galapagus back to Aldabra.

In Too Hot to Handle, Aggregor attacked the ship transporting P'andor back to Prypiatos, killing the Plumbers by letting them get flung into space while he recaptured his prisoner.

In Andreas' Fault, Aggregor found Andreas buried underneath the remains of a Forever Knight castle and transported him back to his ship, putting him in a stasis pod alongside the other aliens he had recaptured. With only Ra'ad at large, Aggregor stated that it was only a matter of time before "the fun begins".

In Fused, Aggregor confronted Ben, Gwen, and Kevin for the first time. He arrived by crashing through the roof of a building in Los Soledad and fought the team. Aggregor decided to use Ampfibian as a replacement for Ra'ad, when Gwen used a teleportation spell so that the team could escape to Kevin's warehouse. Aggregor returned to his ship to have his sensors track the Ultimatrix signal. Unfortunately, it was off-line because Ra'ad tried to destroy the Ultimatrix to prevent Aggregor from finding him, only to wind up trapped inside it when the Ultimatrix scanned his DNA at the same moment.

When Gwen and Kevin rebooted the Ultimatrix to separate Ben and Ra'ad, Aggregor was able to find them again. Knowing he would be coming, Ra'ad quickly fled just as Aggregor came in through the roof again. After dispatching Kevin and Gwen, Aggregor used the Shock Staff to ground and neutralize Brainstorm's electrokinetic powers by firing red energy blasts onto his brain. Aggregor attempted to switch Brainstorm into Ampfibian using his staff (which would have killed him in the process) when Ra'ad returned and ambushed him. Regarding his actions as "noble", Aggregor quickly overpowered Ra'ad. However, Ra'ad electrocuted Aggregor's staff, resulting in a huge explosion that destroyed the warehouse. Ben and Gwen were able to escape the explosion while Aggregor and Ra'ad are nowhere to be found. Kevin felt that Aggregor had won, but Ben (having scanned all five aliens) vowed to use their powers to stop Aggregor.

In Ultimate Aggregor, Aggregor was shown to have escaped the warehouse's explosion with Ra'ad, and traveled out into the desert to call his ship and transport him. Though he was ambushed by the Plumbers, he was prepared and unleashed a torrent of laser cannons to bring down the entire ambush while he transported himself and Ra'ad to his ship. Just as he was about to make a jump to Osmos V, the lead Plumber of the ambush used one of the downed ships to take out the hyperdrive of Aggregor's ship. Unable to leave Earth, Aggregor had to come up with a new plan.

When Ben and his team tracked his ship, they were attacked by the Aggrebots but defeated them. When Lodestar boarded the ship, it self-destructed, but Lodestar was able to survive with his magnetic abilities pulling himself back together. Meanwhile, Aggregor broke into Los Soledad, intent on using the Chronologger from Professor Paradox's old time-traveling experiment as a replacement for the machine on Osmos V. Upon discovering where he was, Ultimate Swampfire and company stormed Los Soledad, charging through the remainder of Aggrebots.

Needing more time, Aggregor used a Mind Control Headband to have the five Andromeda aliens attack them. Upon being freed from his control, Aggregor recalled the aliens. When the team confronted Aggregor, Kevin warned him not to go through with his plan, mentioning that absorbing energy causes Osmosians to go insane. Aggregor refused to believe Kevin, claiming that powerful Osmosians told that to weak Osmosians to control them. Before Kevin could convince him otherwise, Aggregor used the Chronologger to convert the five aliens into energy and transfer it into himself. Humungousaur managed to stop the pump before it destroyed reality. Unfortunately, it was too late as Aggregor had completely absorbed the five aliens, transforming into his mutated state, a massive chimeric mutant, named Ultimate Aggregor.

In Map of Infinity, Humungousaur became so enraged over having been unable to save the Andromeda aliens that he viciously attacked Ultimate Aggregor, demonstrating every ounce of his incredible strength. Humungousaur's attacks did near nothing to Ultimate Aggregor. Showing off his newly acquired powers and abilities, Ultimate Aggregor toyed with Ben's team and easily defeated them all, greatly damaging Max's nervous system in the process. After knocking Humungousaur out, Ultimate Aggregor left Earth. Azmuth revealed that the reason Aggregor absorbed the aliens was so that he could have the power to find the four fragments of the Map of Infinity, which would allow him to enter the Forge of Creation and obtain the greatest power in the universe. In order to stop him, Ben and the others must keep him from getting at least one of the fragments. After going through a temple filled with booby traps on Mikd'lty, Ben and the others nearly reached the first piece, but due to Four Arms and Kevin being forced to hold up the door that led to the chamber holding the piece and Gwen being hit by a poison dart, they were powerless to prevent Ultimate Aggregor (who had used the trio to discover the traps and lead him to the first fragment) from escaping with the first fragment of the map.

In Deep, Ultimate Aggregor invaded the core of Piscciss to steal the second piece of the map, which was in the form of the planet's gravitational multiplier. With the ocean planet falling apart, Ben had no choice but to save Piscciss and let Ultimate Aggregor escape.

In Where the Magic Happens, the trio chased Ultimate Aggregor to the Door to Anywhere, which Ultimate Aggregor used to enter Legerdomain. Gaining the assistance of Charmcaster, the trio entered Legerdomain. When the group was in a battle with Addwaitya, Ultimate Aggregor used it as a diversion to attack Addwaitya from behind and steal the Alpha Rune from him, the third piece of the map, before thanking Ben for helping him and teleporting away. With only one more piece left, Ben became more determined than ever to stop Ultimate Aggregor.

In Perplexahedron, Ultimate Aggregor traveled to the Perplexahedron, which was built by Paradox to protect the fourth piece of the Map of Infinity. He used the map's other pieces to enter the Perplexahedron and made his way through it, where he encountered Gwen and left her to freeze in a snow room. He finally made it to the fourth piece but had a battle with Ultimate Cannonbolt. Despite his best efforts, Ultimate Cannonbolt was beaten and lost the final piece to Ultimate Aggregor, who escaped the crumbling Perplexahedron, now able to enter the Forge of Creation. Despite losing the battle for the map, Ben and the others vowed to stop Ultimate Aggregor once and for all.

Aggregor after having his energy and powers absorbed by Ultimate Kevin

In The Forge of Creation, Ultimate Aggregor attacked Ben, Young Ben, Kevin and Gwen in the Forge of Creation and easily defeated Gwen and Kevin, leaving the Bens to fight him. Ultimate Swampfire grew vines to hold Ultimate Aggregor in place while Stinkfly attacked him. Ultimate Aggregor broke free and knocked down both Ultimate Swampfire and Stinkfly, who transformed back into Ben and Young Ben.

Young Ben offered his Omnitrix to Kevin to absorb it and fight Ultimate Aggregor, but Kevin refused and absorbed the energy from the Ultimatrix to give himself more power. Ultimate Aggregor prepared to absorb the infant inside it. However, Ultimate Aggregor was stopped by Ultimate Kevin, who overpowered and eventually reverted him back to normal state and left him lying unconscious. He was going to be killed by the latter but Ben and Gwen intervened, with Kevin begrudgingly sparing his life.

At some point after Ben and Gwen returned from the Forge of Creation, Aggregor was taken into custody by the Plumbers[DM 2] before eventually being sent to the Null Void.[3]

In Night of the Living Nightmare, Aggregor appeared in Albedo's nightmare where he fought against Lodestar.

Powers and Abilities[]

Like all Osmosians, Aggregor can absorb matter, energy, or the powers of any living creature.

Ra'ad.[4]

Energy Absorption[]

Being a copy of Kevin, Aggregor can absorb the energy of anything.[DM 3]

DNA Absorption[]

Similar to his ability to absorb energy, Aggregor can absorb the DNA of other individuals, either directly[1] or through devices such as the one he built to convert his prisoners into energy.[2][DM 4] By absorbing DNA, he also gains the individuals' powers and undergoes mutation to accommodate the absorbed abilities.[1]

By absorbing their DNA, Aggregor can also drain an individual of their life force.[1]

Matter Absorption[]

Being a copy of Kevin, Aggregor can absorb the matter of anything.[5][4][DM 3]

Other Skills and Abilities[]

Aggregor is a skilled spearman, as he was able to use his Shock Staff to great effect. For example, he could twirl it around rapidly to block projectiles.[4]

Aggregor is quite strong, as he could violently knock both Kevin and Ampfibian across a room.[4]

Aggregor is durable enough to survive being brutally slammed headfirst into a wall by Ra'ad.[4]

Aggregor is a skilled inventor, as he stated that he had created a machine on Osmos V to help him absorb the Andromeda aliens and their powers.[1] He was also able to modify the Chronologger to serve the same purpose as the aforementioned machine.[2]

Aggregor is an excellent strategist, as he was able to set up a deadly ambush with his ship for a squad of Plumbers after he had captured Ra'ad.[2] He also waited for the team to clear out the traps in the Mikd'lty temple so he could retrieve the first piece of Map of Infinity easily.[6]

Aggregor possesses vast knowledge of different alien species, particularly those of his prisoners.[2]

Aggregor evidently knows substantially enough about magic, as he knew exactly the secret true name of the place he was going, which he needed to open the Door to Anywhere and venture into Legerdomain where the third quarter of the Map of Infinity was hidden.

After absorbing the DNA of a Geochelone Aerios, Aggregor temporarily gained the ability to create wind blasts and fly.[1]

Equipment[]

Aggregor possessed the Shock Staff that could be used as a melee or ranged weapon with a multitude of functions, essentially to deal with anything reliant on electrical energy, such as Cerebrocrustaceans.[4] He abandoned it in Los Soledad after becoming Ultimate Aggregor.[2]

Aggregor used a spaceship to travel around the universe, which also served as his residence. It was destroyed when he set it to self-destruct as a trap for the team.[2]

Aggregor had a device which could neutralize a being's powers within close proximity.[1]

Aggregor possessed a device to help him detect Andreas' life signature while searching the remains of a Forever Knight castle,[7] and discover the location of the Chronologger.[2]

Aggregor possessed a pair of energy cuffs, which he used to restrain Ra'ad.[2]

Aggregor possessed a floating device with a blue force field bubble, which he used to escort Ra'ad to his ship.[2]

Aggregor had a remote control to call his ship and have it fire its weapons down onto the Plumbers.[2]

Aggregor had several Mind Control Headbands to control all five of the Andromeda aliens and have them attack the team. The prisoner's headbands were connected to another headband which he wore.[2]

Aggregor wielded the Map of Infinity, which he used to travel to the Forge of Creation.[8] He was also able to use three of its pieces to enter the Perplexahedron.[9]

Weaknesses[]

Any energy, DNA or powers Aggregor absorbs will dissipate over time or through excessive use, so he is required to recharge.[1]

Whenever Aggregor absorbs the DNA of other lifeforms, he only gains 1/10th of their abilities.[note 1]

Absorbing energy, DNA or powers causes Aggregor to become insane.[DM 5] Being drained of the energy, DNA or powers he has absorbed will restore his sanity, at the cost of making him exhausted.[8]

Aggregor is vulnerable to strong winds, such as those generated by a Geochelone Aerios.[1]

Aggregor is vulnerable to electricity, such as that generated by an Amperi.[4]

Aggregor is very dependent on the Shock Staff, using it in almost any fight.[1][4]

Etymology[]

Aggregor's name comes from the word "aggregate", which means to form a collection from different parts. This is obviously a reference to his plan to absorb the Andromeda aliens' powers which re-created his body using the parts from the five aliens.

Trivia[]

  • In his first appearance, Aggregor had six horns. From Escape from Aggregor onwards, he has only four.
  • Aggregor once referred to Kevin as a "hatchling", a reference to their difference in age and power.[4] However, this was due to the false memory implanted by Servantis, as Aggregor's powers themselves came from Kevin.[DJW 1]
  • Despite claiming that absorbing energy causing insanity is a lie told by the powerful Osmosians to control the weak ones,[2] Aggregor prefers to use the Shock Staff instead of his absorption powers.
  • Aggregor was mentioned in Cosmic Destruction by Psyphon, who said that he had considered working for Aggregor, but he preferred to work alone, with this leading Aggregor to his eventual defeat.
  • Aggregor's Toon Cricket team's name is Aggregor Aggressives.
  • Aggregor is a much greater threat than Vilgax, even before he became Ultimate Aggregor.[DM 6]
  • Aggregor did not place his prisoners in the separate pods in Escape from Aggregor because he wanted to save power.[DM 6]
  • Aggregor is one of the few villains that was never defeated by Ben himself, though Ben could have beaten him in Fused if he had used an alien who was not electrokinetic.[DM 7]
  • Aggregor was created by Dwayne McDuffie and Glen Murakami.[ES 1]
  • At some point in the planning stages of Arc 6 of Omniverse, Aggregor was supposed to return in an early version of The Rooters of All Evil, where he would seek out Kevin and reveal himself to be an experiment created by the Rooters to duplicate Kevin's powers, potentially with his memories having been fabricated.[DJW 2]
    • If the episode was to go as planned, Aggregor's genetic code would have been breaking down before resulting in his "death", having been melted into what Derrick J. Wyatt called "ooze".[DJW 3]
    • Derrick felt Clancy Brown would be a good fit to voice Aggregor in Omniverse.[DJW 4]
    • Derrick believed that Aggregor was excluded from the episode (and by extension, Omniverse) because no one could work up any enthusiasm to do another Aggregor-centric story. As a large part of the crew for the show had worked on the first two seasons of Ultimate Alien, he did not think anyone was in any hurry to get back to the character.[DJW 3]
  • In 2021, Derrick designed Aggregor in the Omniverse art style, based on sketches from the show's production. It can be found in the gallery.

Notes[]

  1. Initially, an Osmosian's absorption ratio was proportional, as shown with Pyronite Kevin and Tetramand Kevin, while the Kevin 11 mutation held only 1/11th of a component's abilities. However, it was later established in Escape from Aggregor that Osmosians gain the fixed amount of 1/10th of a lifeform's abilities, regardless of the circumstances.[10]
